Debra Kunce, FAIA, is an extraordinary AIA leader and emerging professionals advocate. She is a driving force behind transforming AIA’s future through repositioning, integrated media, governance, and strategic planning at all levels of the institute.
She has been instrumental in the Repositioning Initiative and development of the Institute’s Strategic Plan 2010-2015, the new Integrated Media Partnership with Hanley Wood, and role model and supporter for Emerging Professionals. She was elected as AIA Vice President in 2011 and is serving a two-year term (2012-13) as an AIA National Board Executive Committee member leading the Communications Committee and serving as the board liaison to the Council of Emerging Professionals. She began her national board service as the Ohio Valley Regional Director. She continues to be an engaged as an active AIA Indiana and AIA Indianapolis leader, serving on the AIA Indiana state legislative committee and Indy Rezone task force to update Indianapolis’ zoning and development regulations to be more sustainable and livable .
